What we collect, why we collect it, and how you stay in control.

Who we are

ZenPoint develops and sells Digital Center, a media center for Windows. We are the data controller for the personal data described below. If you have any questions or want your data deleted, please contact us.

Cookies and advertising measurement

We advertise on Google and need to know which ads actually lead to someone trying Digital Center. To do that we use Google Analytics and Google Ads, which set cookies in your browser.

If you are in the EU, the UK, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein, these cookies are switched off by default. Nothing is stored and nothing is sent to Google until you accept them in the cookie banner. You can decline, and the site works exactly the same.

To change your mind later, clear this site's data in your browser settings. The banner will then ask you again.

Website traffic logs

Independently of cookies, our server records each page request: the IP address, the page visited, the referring page, the browser user-agent string, and the country the IP resolves to. We use this to see how much traffic the site gets and to separate real visitors from bots.

This does not identify you by name, but an IP address is personal data, so we list it here rather than hide it. It is never sold or shared with advertisers.

When you give us information

  • Contact form: your name, email address and message, so we can reply.
  • Newsletter: your email address and the date you signed up. Every email we send contains an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing is permanent.
  • Newsletter and campaign emails: to see whether our emails are useful, we record when an email is opened and when a link in it is clicked, together with the email address it was sent to. Opening is detected with a small invisible image; if your email program blocks images, nothing is recorded. You can stop all of it at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email - unsubscribing is permanent and also stops this measurement.
  • Account: your username and email address.
  • Purchase: your name, email address and any company details. Payment is handled entirely by Stripe - we never see or store your card number.
  • Forum: anything you post is public by design.

The Digital Center application

Digital Center is licensed software, and the application communicates with our servers. When it activates or renews a licence we record a hardware fingerprint of the machine, its IP address and the country it resolves to. We use this to enforce the licence - specifically, to detect the same licence key being used on two different machines.

The application also reports usage data: when it starts and stops, which centers and plugins are opened, and which version is installed. The companion tool, ZenPoint Media Manager, reports the same basic start and stop events so we can tell the two programs apart. Each report also includes the IP address it was sent from and the country that IP resolves to. This tells us which features are worth developing further and where our users are. It is tied to the machine fingerprint and the licence, not to your name.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your data. We share it only with the services we need to run the business: Google (advertising measurement, if you accept cookies), Stripe (payments) and our email provider (transactional email and the newsletter).
