ZenPoint Digital Center 6.0.36 is out
Asked by Rick on October 23, 2026 - 4 replies
A new version of Digital Center is ready. This release is about working comfortably with other programs and about polishing your own look. External programs and games now start smoothly while Digital Center waits quietly behind them, and the look editor gets drafts, editing and see-through tiles. Arcade finds far more covers, and Music, Karaoke, Movies and Music Videos each get a few welcome additions. A few of the highlights:
- Digital Center steps aside for your programs - when you start an external program or ZenPoint Media Manager, Digital Center now stays in full screen behind it instead of minimizing. When the program closes, the kiosk is back at once, without a glimpse of the desktop. While the program runs, Digital Center leaves Alt+Tab and the taskbar, and its icon by the clock lets you control the music or bring it back with a double-click. Programs started through a launcher now take over in a second or two, and a tap can no longer start a program twice.
- Edit your own looks - your own looks can now be edited directly. Unfinished work is kept as drafts that survive a restart, and Publish makes the pictures smaller so the look takes up far less space. Tile pictures can now be see-through, for example a tile that looks like glass, and keyboard focus follows the picture's own shape. Tiles and covers can be zoomed out and stood on the bottom edge, and you can set letter spacing and how the background video loops and how fast it plays.
- More covers in Arcade - console games are now recognised by their content, not just their file name, so their covers are found even when the file is named something else entirely. Arcade games also get covers far more often than before. Driving games such as OutRun can now be played with accelerator and brake, and Mega Drive games stored as a single file start as they should.
- Small things that make a difference - karaoke videos can show the singer names at the top, at the bottom or not at all, so they never cover the lyrics. Music videos can take the artist from their folder name. Music can sort each artist's albums by year without showing the year. "Play Now" can take the interrupted song out of the queue. On a touch screen you can choose a magnifier or a large letter board for the A-Z bar.
There is much more: "Find installed program" when you add an external program, file pickers that remember the last folder and can sort newest first, whole film posters on the Movies group pages, and a new look for the installer. There is also a list of fixes, most importantly that the screen no longer freezes while the kiosk runs your own commands, that a song added while another is starting is no longer skipped, and that saying no to an update no longer makes the kiosk close again and again.
If you start games or other programs from Digital Center, try it now. The kiosk waits quietly behind them and is back the moment they close.

Click "Read more" on the 6.0.36 entry for the full walkthrough, including tips on how to try each new feature. The changelog is available in your own language.
How to update: open Setup on the front screen, go to Administration and choose Updates. Digital Center then downloads and installs the new version for you, and restarts when it is done.

Some nice features updated there ! ....And ive just turned off the jukebox for the night !!! 😮
Ill test it out tomorrow....
Just wondering about the Editable themes .... can they be exported to share to other users? It might be a nice feature for the community.

Hi @rob,
Thank you for letting us know, and sorry for the trouble. We have found the cause: files left behind by an older version stop some centres from starting after the update. A fixed version, 6.0.37, is on its way.
To get your centres back right now: uninstall Digital Center from Windows' Apps & features. When it asks whether to delete your data, answer No, so your settings, playlists and libraries are kept. Then install 6.0.36 again from zenpoint.org.
If you would like to help us confirm it, please send us the file C:\ProgramData\DigitalCenter\data\logs\digitalcenter-2026-10-23.log.

Hi @JustanotherAdam,
Thank you, we hope you enjoy it when you try it tomorrow.
Sharing your own looks is a great idea, and we have added it to our wish list. There is no export button yet. For now, a look is stored as a folder on the computer, so you can copy it by hand: you will find your looks in %LOCALAPPDATA%\DigitalCenter\skins. Copy the folder with your look's name to the same place on the other computer, and it appears under Appearance in Administration.
We will let you know when sharing becomes easier.
