ZenPoint Digital Center 6.0.28 is out

A new version of Digital Center is ready, and this one is about control. A few of the highlights:
- Bring your playlists in from an m3u file - if you already keep your lists as .m3u or .m3u8 files, Digital Center reads the file and finds the songs in its own library, even when the file was made on another computer. Before anything is saved you see how many songs were found and which entries were missing, so you can add a folder and import again.
- A guest's song can take over at once - with Always Playing, the background music used to play to the end before a guest's choice began. Switch on "Guest songs start right away" and the background song steps aside the moment a guest adds one, like a classic jukebox. A song somebody chose is never interrupted.
- Choose how Play Next orders a run of wishes - pick three songs in a row and they used to play in reverse order. Set "Order for Play Next" to "First come, first served" and they play in the order you picked them, still ahead of the rest of the playlist.
- Big, easy buttons on the front page - the new Fill screen effect makes the tiles as large as the screen allows, so a kiosk with only a few centres gets big buttons in the middle instead of small tiles in a corner. The front page can now keep an effect of its own, so it can have big buttons while the music library keeps its ordinary grid.
- Your own equipment can react when the music pauses - Automation can now start a program when playback pauses and resumes, so a light panel can go dark on pause and hit the beat when the music comes back. Setting it up no longer means typing a whole command: choose the program, tap in the values you want, and press "Try it" to check that it starts.
- A much smarter search in ZenPoint Media Manager - type several words, keep words together with quotation marks, search one field with artist: or genre:, leave things out with a minus, and use a vertical bar for either one. Right-click a row to show only its album, artist, genre or year.
There is much more: a theme can filter on folder and file name separately, the effects have shorter names that fit in the picker, every choice field in Administration now looks the same, the album page on the phone opens in a moment even on a huge library, the karaoke library is remembered between startups, CDG karaoke graphics no longer fall behind in the middle of a song, Play Next and Play Now in Karaoke never take another singer's turn, every effect moves the way its name says on every machine, and there is a long list of fixes.
If you run a jukebox with Always Playing, try "Guest songs start right away" first. Open Administration, go to Playlists, pick your list and switch it on just below Always Playing.

Click "Read more" on the 6.0.28 entry for the full walkthrough, including tips on how to try each new feature. The changelog is available in your own language.
How to update: open Setup on the front screen, go to Administration, choose Updates and press "Check now". Digital Center then downloads and installs the new version for you, and restarts when it is done.
