I can't take it anymore! Giving up on this software!

I love this software, but I've had enough.  I'm sad to say that I'm going back to using thePCJukebox as my home music player.  As a lover of  listening to full alums and as a person who locates individual tracks by what album they come from (rather than by name), I can't handle the fact that Zenpoint does not have an Album View after Artist lookup.  W/ a collection the size of mine (over 4 thousand full albums) it is simply too much of hassle to find an album of choice after by scrolling to the right over, and over, and over - 12 albums after 12 albums, until I reach the artist I'm interested in.  I have several customers I've built jukeboxes for, and after installing the Zenpoint trial, all but one of them asked me to delete it..... they decided against this software simply because of THIS non-feature - it's just unusable w/ the large collection!

The PCJukebox is ugly software, but it has the functionality necessary to navigate a large collection - Click Arist -> Click Artist/Band name -> See all albums from that artist (in order by year of release, no less).  Perfect!

I'll keep my license and check the release notes, but unfortuanately, I have to give up on this beautiful software for now.  Any idea when the next release is coming out?

Hi Bitey_mouse
If you go to artists and find the artist you are looking for, all the song from this artist will appear.
Select a song from the list, and in the popup click on the album cover image and you are redirected to that album.

Hi

I have to agree, search is a hassle and I now use Albumplayer instead. There are simply to many features missing in Zenpoint to make it usable with a large album collection. I'll keep the license and use the buildt in radioplayer that is very good. Hopefully the developer will realize the weakness and update Zenpoint in the future.

Hi All
We are releasing DigitalCenter ver.4 within the next couple of weeks, and this release has a lot of new features regarding the navigation.
Looking forward to show you the next release.
Best regards

Looking forward to that. Are you also implementing FLAC support ? and how about album art, will it now be possible to browse for a location and manually
set album cover. At the moment all my covers are inside each album folder however Zenpoint often ignore the jpg's. I have 3000+ albums in the colletion ( approx. 30% in FLAC format ), all tags are perfect in order and every jpg is named folder.jpg.

Is there any information on the release of Version 4?  I see the post above saying that it will be released in the next couple of weeks, but that was back in August.  I'm am interested in purchasing, but would like to see what Version 4 brings before I buy it.  Thanks!

I am also curious as to when this will be released. I love this application but the fact it tries to import my album covers every time and fails is really frustrating.

It would be great if the application would see an out of memory issue and then re-set what is there. Do a running append rather than try to load it all and consume all the memory

Hmm, I have thousands of covers and don't have this problem Dannymh. Have you looked in the log folder for the errors you are getting? The log is a great place to start. Drive:\ZenPoint\DigitalCenter\Logs.

You'll see a new log created everyday you run the app, and it appends if you run it multiple times during the day, so delete currentlog if you want a fresh one. Inside the log it should show you all the songs that failed to load and may give you a clue as to where the problem lies. I know I have resized all of my album covers to 500x500 and have 0 problem loading them all now. I also ensure the album cover that is tagged to individual songs isn't larger that 500x500 too. When I started scanning covers and applying them to the songs, the files were HUGE, so resizing fixed all my woes. Hope this helps.
